About "What To Do For Health" book series: In America, more than 77 million people have Below Basic or Basic health literacy skills, have trouble reading or writing above a 3rd to 5th grade level and are challenged when it comes to effectively navigating all aspects of the healthcare system. In 1998, IHA recognized the impact this staggering statistic has on these individuals' ability to make informed and intelligent decisions on the need for healthcare intervention, and to access that care in an appropriate manner.
