IHA Health Literacy Awards 2010

Each year, the Institute for Healthcare Advancement recognizes efforts in advancing the field of health literacy with its annual IHA Health Literacy Awards. These honors are presented in four categories: Hero of Health Literacy, Research, Published Materials, and Innovative Programs. Awards were presented at the Thursday Awards Luncheon at the conference. Congratulations to all the 2010 IHA Health Literacy Award winners!

       2010 IHA Health Literacy Hero Award

Rima Rudd, Sc.D, Senior Lecturer on Society, Human Development, and Health at the Harvard School of Public Health

      2010 Excellence In Research

Catherine Wiley, MD, Chief, Division of General Pediatrics, University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and team, for their research study on "Nutrition Labels:  The relationship between health literacy and maternal response to a brief teaching intervention in reading nutrition labels"

                                                                

    2010 Excellence In Published Materials

Amy J. Neil, MS, MAP, Medical Writer and James S. Rue, Creative Director, for "The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Parent Education Package"

   

            2010 Excellence in Innovative Programs
