Pre-Conference Session, Wednesday, May 5: "Health Literacy America:  A Cooperative of Statewide Initiatives"

Health Literacy Missouri (HLM) convened a special pre-conference workshop.  Its purpose was to encourage dialogue toward the development of a statewide health literacy center for participants' own states, and to discuss other ideas to increase awareness of health literacy.  All conference registrants were invited to participate. 

Conference Opening, Wednesday, May 5 and Thursday, May 6:

The Ninth Annual Health Literacy Conference began with a preconference session on Wednesday night, "Health Literacy 101: An Introduction to the Field," presented by IHA's Michael Villaire (lower left). IHA's CEO and President, Gloria Mayer (lower right), introduced Thursday's speakers and moderated the first day's proceedings.

Exhibitors are an important part of the conference, bringing real-world information about products and services of interest to our attendees. Many are nonprofits or government agencies who are working in health literacy. A big "thank you" to them all!
