2008 IHA Health Literacy Awards

Nominations for the 2008 Health Literacy Awards are closed. Winners have been notified. If you submitted a nomination but did not receive an award, we hope you can join us at the conference to be acknowledged by your peers with the other award nominees at the Awards Luncheon.

Nomination Deadline
Completed entries must be received in IHA's office no later than 5 p.m. Pacific time on March 31, 2008  NOMINATIONS FOR THE HEALTH LITERACY AWARDS ARE NOW CLOSED. Address: 501 S. Idaho St., Suite 300, La Habra, CA 90631.

NOTE: You may submit your nomination form electronically to mvillaire@iha4health.org as long as you make sure you are attaching any materials you wish to have the judging committee review.

Eligibility/Criteria
Anyone working in the field of health literacy is eligible for an award. You may nominate another person for an award or you may nominate yourself. Entries must meet the following criteria:

  • Addresses an aspect of health literacy
  • Aimed at solving an identified healthcare problem
  • 75% to 100% of work completed in the past 2 years
  • Empowers people to better health
  • Specific, recognized impact, or the potential to affect, the greater healthcare community
Awards
Presentation of the 2008 IHA Health Literacy Awards will take place at the Institute for Healthcare Advancement's Seventh Annual Health Literacy Conference: "Health Literacy in Primary Care: Best Practices and Skill Building," to be held May 1-2, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Irvine, California. Winners in each category will receive a $500 check, a handsome plaque, and complimentary tuition, travel, and hotel accommodations at the Hyatt Regency Irvine.
